Evonik is one of the world's largest manufacturers of polyamide 12 (PA 12), which is marketed under the name VESTAMID® L. And we are currently increasing our capacity by more than 50% to ensure that we remain your reliable partner in the future.
Polyamide 612 (PA612), which we market under the name VESTAMID® D, has a higher heat resistance than PA 12 and is therefore also suitable for the patented plastic-rubber composites without adhesion promoters.
POLYAMIDE 12 ELASTOMERS
Our VESTAMID® E PA 12 elastomers (PEBA) belong to the increasingly important class of materials known as thermoplastic elastomers (TPE). They are characterized by high elasticity and good resilience. The latest development is a flexible foam with extraordinary ball resiliency.
The VESTAMID® Terra family comprises a group of polyamides based on renewable raw materials: the monomers are obtained in whole or in part from castor oil.
Polyamides for industrial pipes
VESTAMID® NRG was developed specifically for the oil and gas industry, but is now also used in other industrial pipes. It has very good chemical resistance and is characterized in particular by high impact strength and excellent stress crack resistance.
YOUR PARTNER, FROM THE ORIGINAL IDEA TO THE FINAL PRODUCT
As a partner to our customers, we are far more than a producer of high-grade polymers: Our aim is rather to develop technically sophisticated system solutions in close collaboration with you. In this we draw on our many years of experience in application technology, which we make available to our partners in development.
CAMPUS® stands for Computer Aided Material Preselection by Uniform Standards, a plastics data base which is updated regularly. Here you find other properties of VESTAMID® compounds and material information on the other products of Evonik. CAMPUS® is a registered trademark of CWF GmbH, Frankfurt on Main.
More high-performance polymers of Evonik
In addition to the polyamides of the VESTAMID® familiy Evonik offers a broad portfolio of other high performance polymers including the transparent polyamides TROGAMID®, the polyamide powders VESTOSINT® and the 3D printing materials INFINAM®, the VESTAMELT® adhesives, the polybutylene terephthalate compounds VESTODUR® and the high temperature VESTAKEEP® PEEK compounds.
