Sports shoes with VESTAMID®—to put your feet in good hands

Athletes make heavy demands on their shoes: In summer, as in winter, the shoes must absorb hard shocks and stabilize the foot, withstand extreme stress, and counter strong pressure during impact. In addition to the design of the shoe, the material plays a major role here. For production of the outer soles of high-performance sports shoes and of ski boots and their components, VESTAMID® E polyamide 12 elastomers possess the required property profile in regard to stability and flexibility. Moreover, a 100 percent bio-based variant is available in VESTAMID® Terra DS. 

  • The flexibility and elasticity of the soles are systematically adjustable over a wide range by a combination of design and optimal choice of material. This explains why football, basket ball, baseball, and rugby players, golfers, sprinters, cyclists, and winter sports enthusiasts all prefer VESTAMID® under their feet.
  • Functional and dampening elements remain dimensionally stable even under high stress.
  • The good resilience of VESTAMID® E and VESTAMID® Terra DS prevents deformation of soles and shoe parts.

    The sole material absorbs energy when it is deformed, some of which is returned to the runner as an impulse via a spring effect. With VESTAMID® the difference between the absorbed and returned energy is very small compared to other materials.
  • Due to the very low density compared with other plastics, ski-boot parts or running-shoe soles made from VESTAMID® are extremely light. This enhances wear comfort, saves energy, and improves stamina.
  • The tenacity, impact strength and rigidity of VESTAMID® E are barely affected by temperature, thus ensuring that the quality of the shoe remains uniform over a temperature range.
  • Because the molding materials are readily processed, easily colored, and excellent for printing, they allow innovative design ideas and excellent brand presentation.
